    Dirty DK 200g

Soft, sturdy, and ready to handle your next project.

Dirty DK is the versatile, no-fuss yarn you’ll reach for time and time again. It’s soft, strong, anti-pilling, and OEKO-TEX® certified - so you know it’s been tested for nasties and is safe for sensitive skin. With a generous 400 metres per 200g skein, this DK (8 ply equivalent) weight yarn is perfect for everything from lightweight garments to detailed homewares and accessories.

It’s centre-pull friendly (because tangled yarn is not the vibe), and plays well with 4mm–5mm hooks and needles - making it ideal for both crochet and knitting projects. Whether you're making something bold, breezy, or snuggly, Dirty DK has your back.

    Great for:

    • Everyday garments and layering pieces

    • Baby clothes and accessories

    • Lightweight blankets

    • Hats, headbands, mitts + more

    A little heads up:
Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen and the dye lot. For best results (and less dye lot drama), we recommend ordering enough yarn for your whole project. We’ll always do our best to send matching dye lots when you order multiples — but occasionally it’s out of our hands.

Dirty DK is here for defined stitches, bold colour, and everyday wearability - good vibes only. 🧶✨

    Disappointed

I looked at your colour range and was totally excited because the colours are bright and happy so I ordered 7 different colours of the Dirty DK. When.it arrived I looked at it and thought, 100% acrylic? It's more like nylon. It splits while crocheting, it's hard to thread a needle to finish off squares and the number of knots in a 200 gm.ball in 2 of the colours was ridiculous. I am.an avid crocheter and buy a lot of wool, I spent $70 odd dollars, on a pension, and now trying to make something so I don't waste my money. Not happy at all and I know it won't worry you at all but I won't be buying from you again..

    Hey Lee!

Following on from our emails, once again I am really sorry this was your experience. This is not the type of feedback we ever expect to get for any of our products because we do pride ourselves on quality.

After receiving your initial feedback we are already working with our manufacturer to decrease the chances of factory knots in the future.

As for the splitting - some splitting at the beginning or end of the skein or around any factory knots (where the yarn would have been attached to the machine for winding) can be normal. Our Dirty DK is a high grade anti pilling yarn so it has very few of those fuzzy fibres that would usually fuse the ply's together. However, the splitting shouldn't affect the usability of the yarn or continue throughout the entire skein - so I do apologise if that is the case and thank you for bringing this to our attention!

If you could send through any photos you have to hello@sourceoffibre.com.au I'd love to investigate this further.

Thank you for your feedback and I do hope we see you again at some point in the future

    New Fav for Winter Wearables

I've made several beanies and a cardigan from this yarn now and they have all turned out amazing. Great stitch definition and absolutely no pilling so far. I will say it's a bit closer to a 10ply than a DK weight, but I don't mind it at all! The colours are all gorgeous, especially Peacock, Cotinga and Anemone. Would love to see some more pastels in this range :)

    Dirty DK

Delivery was quick and with no issues.
Dirty dk is lovely not sure what I will use it for yet as I was hoping the green was more of a teal but that was my mistake not source of fibres. Will definitely order again.
